A good start is the information in your company brochure, advertisements or
other marketing materials. We will have a phone or on-line interview so
that you may tell me all about your business and how you want to incorporate
the Web in your marketing efforts.

What is a domain name?
A domain name, such as
lisabeale.com is simply a way to identify your web site, email, etc. from
everyone else's. Just as your mailing address is unique in the world, so is
every domain name. If domain names were not unique it would be impossible to
accurately deliver anything to its proper location. Computers on the Internet
use combinations of numbers to talk to each other called IP Addresses. To make
it easier for humans to communicate via the web, domain names were created!
An Internet domain name
is "unique" and allows you to have an "identity" on the Internet.
Domain Name registration is
included in all of my Packages.
I register the
domain name in your name and you are the owner of the name for 1 Year
from the date of registration. After that period, you will be invited to renew
the domain name for a period of 1 or more years. You will always have the
option to renew the domain name. You are registered as the Administrative
Contact and have the final say in any activities regarding your domain name
for as long as you are the registered, paid owner.
You will be able
to contact me if you need help when it is time to renew the domain name.

What is web hosting?
Web hosting is the
essentially the placement of your website onto the Internet through a server.
Once your site is on a server, anyone with Internet access can look at your
website - from anywhere in the world, 24 hours a day.
Hosting a
website entails storing its constituent files, images, and data on a web
server, a computer whose sole purpose is making the site available over the
web. Once a site is hosted, it can be viewed from any computer with a web
browser and internet connection. A user need only type the site’s web address
into a web browser, and the web server will respond by downloading the site
onto the user’s computer, where it is displayed by a "web browser" application
like Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator.
Web Hosting is
included in all of my Packages.
I will research to determine the optimal web hosting
provider for your site and arrange for 1 Year of site hosting. After
that period, you will be invited to renew the web hosting for a period of 1 or
more years. You will always have the option to renew your web hosting
contract.
You are registered
as the contact and have the final say in any activities regarding your web
hosting for as long as you are the registered, paid owner.
You will be able to contact me if you need help when it is time to renew the
web hosting contract.

How will people know about my
website?
The most basic way for people to know about
your website will be through your marketing materials. Include your website address on all letterhead, business cards, outgoing phone messages, print ads, radio ads,
brochures, etc.
Registering your site with popular
search engines is included in all of my Packages. I will work with
you to determine the best "keywords" to describe your business offerings.

What if I want to make changes after
my website is up and running?
You will have 7 Days after your site is
live to make minor changes. After that time period,
email me
on the fly or set up a monthly schedule. I will get the job done regularly or
when you have an urgent need. My hourly rate is $50, with a 1 hour minimum
fee. Regularly scheduled content updates can be set up on a yearly contract
basis, paid monthly.
When communicating
your page changes, you can simply send me your text in the body of an email
or as a Microsoft Word file attachment. You will also need to include the web
page url.

Don't websites cost thousands of dollars to create?
For years I saw many
small businesses spend thousands of dollars on elaborate websites that they
simply did not need. Sure, Fortune 500 companies may need to spend the big
bucks, but most small businesses need not. An attractive, functional website
that provides potential customers with the information they need is all a small
business really needs.
